The stern transformation...

Among other things we had some core must haves on our list:

(1) We needed the dinghy off the deck, have the bow free so sails could move freely and ensure that using the dinghy was easy

(2) A dinghy for a sailor is like a car for a land based life.....a must have and the dinghy and motor on this boat originally were not suitable ( too small)

(3) We wanted solar as we love anchoring in remote spots and like to avoid marinas as much as possible

(4) As Iain discovered the gangway on the boat was long ( not foldable) very heavy and when we tried to use it, it needed multiple ropes and leverage systems to be able to lift, lower and move its location

So we went from this to this

(1) A solar arch and dinghy davits- solar (700 watts), arch strong enough for 200kg

(2) New dinghy 3.2m Seatec with 15HP Honda motor ( replaced 2.5m dinghy and 3.5HP motor)

(3) Replacement of heavy fibreglass ( over 2m) with second hand hydraulic Besenzoni 1m ( when not extended)
